Facts about Dodgie
Dodgie began singing publicly at the age of 7 and appeared in a number of amateur productions.
At the age of 15, he told his careers advisor he wanted to be a singer. They said he couldn't be a singer and was told to pick a proper job... Since leaving school he has been asked to return on a number of occasions to help raise funds for them.
Dodgie received good comments from Robbie's former flat mate Jonathan Wilkes and his now wife Nikki Wheeler (Robbie's dancer at Knebworth) when Dodgie was invited to be a guest at the opening night of the Rocky Horror show, in which Jonathan performed.
Dodgie has appeared on TV a number of times and the most memorable was on a programme called Sky High, a programme looking at the Midlands and its famous places and people. He was asked to sing Let Me Entertain You in the pub where Robbie grew up (the Red Lion, Burslem). The News of the World wrote a full page spread about Dodgie following this appearance in their Sunday magazine.
Dodgie has worked with a number of celebrities from TV and music, the most recent being Howard Donald.
In September 2003 Dodgie Williams promoted and sold out the 1100 seat theatre at the Victoria Hall, a venue where Robbie himself has performed. |
